Description
Lagrave-Martillac is the second wine of the Château Latour-Martillac (Grand Cru Classé de Graves since 1953), which was created in 1986 for the red wine and in 1990 for the white wine. Produced from a selection of plots, the second wine receives the same attention as the Grand Vin! The 2017 vintage has a wonderful purple, dark red color and reveals notes of very ripe black fruits on the nose. The prelude on the palate is soft and well developed. The wine develops thanks to the integrated tannins with a smooth smoothness and a concentrated finish – an optimal development. This excellent second wine is a top offer!
Winemaker’s Notes:
A lovely deep red colour with lively flashes. A discreet nose, with a slightly spicy and delicately woody fruitiness. The initial impression is pleasing, round and elegant. On the palate, the wine reveals its tight, subtle and complex tannins. The features of the grape varieties have been harmoniously enhanced by the barrel ageing. The long, smooth, flavoursome finish promises well for the years to come.
Tasting Notes:
The 2017 Lagrave-Martillac Red is intensely purple. The nose reveals subtle fruits of the forest (blackcurrant and blackberry) with floral notes (powdered roses). The mouth is silky and rich. The tannins are present but well-integrated in this full-bodied, intensely fruity wine. Optimal Tasting 2020-2025; Service Température: Between 16°C / 61°F and 18°C / 64°F.
Notes:
Second Wine of Château Latour-Martillac.
Deep garnet-purple in color, it exudes expressive notions of baked plums, blueberry pie and chocolate box with wafts of kirsch and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied, the palate gives lots of appealing, juicy black and blue fruits with a chewy texture and bright acidity, finishing uncomplicated. (18th June, 2020)
