The 2017 du Tertre is a distinctly powerful, savory Margaux. A rich concoction of jammy dark fruit, smoke, leather, licorice, tobacco and game melds together in this pliant, inviting Grand Vin from du Tertre. All the elements are beautifully woven together in a silky, succulent du Tertre that will drink well with minimal cellaring. As always, du Tertre has a very distinctive wild character, but the 2017 appears to have more than enough depth to provide balance. Overall, this is a strong vintage for du Tertre, with lovely fruit presence and terrific balance. Jamessuckling.com

The 2017 du Tertre is a very pretty wine. Succulent red cherry, dried flowers, mint, blood orange and spice notes meld together in a pliant, mid-weight Margaux that will drink well right out of the gate. This is an especially elegant vintage for a property that often leans towards a wilder style. The 2017 is one of the prettiest recent Tertres I can remember tasting. (3/11/2020)

The 2017 Château du Tertre is a beauty. Possessing plenty of red, black, and blue fruits, spicy oak, medium body and ripe tannin, it’s going to need short-term cellaring to let the oak integrate but has loads to love. While Margaux didn’t hit the highs of Pauillac in the vintage, there are plenty charming wines from this appellation. (6/12/2018)
